Descriptions of birds, fish and plants observed during Osbeck's travels, and sent to Carl Linnaeus in different letters. All undatedm but probably sent during the year 1752, which saw the heaviest correspondence between Osbeck and Linnaeus concerning Osbeck trip to China.
They include:
- 'Beskrifning öfwer Örlogs foglen af Petr Osbeck' (a description of a maritime bird) and 'Beskrifning på en fisk kallad Lods af Petr Osbeck'. The latter, a description of the hake, was published in "Kungliga Vetenskaps Academiens Handlingar", 1755, p. 71.
- 'Beskrifning öfwer Manghas trädet af Petr Osbeck' (a description of the mango tree) and 'Beskrifning öfver en liten Javansk Papegoja af Petr Osbeck' (description of a small Javanese parrot). The latter was published in Osbeck, P. 1757. "Dagbok Ofwer en Ostindsk Resa". Stockholm, p. 101. These descriptions are referred to in a letter from Carl Linnaeus to Pehr Osbeck, 4 December 1752 n.s., "The Linnaean Correspondence", linnaeus.c18.net, letter L1503, where Linnaeus tells Osbeck that 'Linnaeus will publish Osbeck’s observations in the Acta. Magnus Lagerström will himself describe the little parrot. The description of the Mangha tree is inserted in the "Species plantarum".
- 'Följande Dne slags Fisk fångar...', published in Osbeck, P. 1757. "Dagbok Ofwer en Ostindsk Resa". Stockholm, p. 130-131.
- List of plant genera, with notes of their characteristics and presence in China, on 3 ff entitled 'Continuatio Class. 14'; 'No. 1 Continuation af Loca natal herbar etc.' - covering classes 14, and classes 19 to 24 of the sexual system. On verso of 3rd folio: 'Descr. piscis sineasis', printed in Osbeck, P. 1757. "Dagbok Ofwer en Ostindsk Resa". Stockholm, p. 226.
- 'Grås=sjö eller Krå=sjö...', printed in Osbeck, P. 1757. "Dagbok Ofwer en Ostindsk Resa". Stockholm, p. 303-307.
- List of 37 Chinese plant genera starting with '1. Lobelia'; on the verso: 'Obs. mäst alla mina gräs woro ifrån China'. These are possibly the 37 numbered specimens alluded to in the letter from Pehr Osbeck to Carl Linnaeus, 30 August 1752 n.s., "The Linnaean Correspondence", linnaeus.c18.net, letter L1464.
