Description:
Includes taxonomic descriptions of:
- 'Homo'. Mammals are still called 'anthropomorpha', the classification of 'Homo' is divided between 'diurnus' and 'nocturnus' as in 1758, and on fol. 2, the specific epithet 'diurnus' has been crossed out and replaced with 'sapiens'.
- 'Simia', with specific epithets, which differ from the epithets used in "Systema naturae" 1758. Reference is made to "Museum regis" (1754) and to "Syst. nat. 5" which is in fact "Systema naturae" 6th edition (1748). Some folios concerning 'Simia' do not bear any specific epiteths and are therefore earlier drafts.
- 'Vespertilio'. In "Systema naturae" 1748, the bat was within class II, 'Ferae', right after the genus 'Talpa'. The folio includes both 'Talpa' and 'Vespertilio' indicating that it was written with the 1748 classification in mind. In 1758, the bat was moved to 'Mammalia primates'. The other folio on 'Vespertilio' in Linnaeus Filius's hand.
- extracts from various authors (Pliny, Valentyn, Maupertuis), on indigenous populations - troglodytes, Hottentots are mentioned, as well as Borneo. In both Latin and Swedish.
