Full course of lectures on 'Materia medica' concerning medicinal plants and given by Linnaeus fil., as professor in 1777-1778.
Linnaeus fil. had began these lectures in 1773, mid-way through the lectures course, as a substitute to his father while the latter was working on the Bible Commission. His lectures began at 'Tetradynamia' (LM/LF/MED/3/6). As a professor in 1777 or 1778, he began the course of lectures again from the beginning, including the full course introduction, and the first part from 'Monandria' to 'Tetradynamia'

The lecture notes follow the order and genera numbers of Linné, C. von. 1749. "Materia medica Liber I de plantis". Stockholm.
They start at 'Monandria' to end in the middle of 'Syngenesia'. Not all genera are present. Particularly incomplete are ff. 348 to 494 (Tetrandria to Syngenesia) as they were probably used in conjunction with the earlier 1773 lecture notes (LM/LF/MED/3/6).
The notes stop at '396. Anthemis Pyrethrum'. This corresponds to '396. Buphthalmum ' in Linné, C. von. 1749. "Materia medica"; the genus name "Anthemis Pyrethrum" appears in Bergius, P. J. 1778. "Materia medica e regno vegetabile". Stockholm, p. 697 (genus number 437).
Many of the genera names reflect the fact that Linnaeus fil. wrote the lecture notes shortly after the publication of Bergius's work.
