Excerpts taken from Melch, Friccius. 1701. "Tractatus de virtute venenorum medica. Ulmae. The notes were taken between 21 June and 25 August 1726. On one of the last pages, is inscribed 'finita e Lectio Friccii af Araby d. 25 Aug. Ao 1726.'
The notes were made by Joh. Hielmstedt who was a classmate of Carl Linnaeus at the upper-school of Växjö, at te country seat Araby close to Växjö.
Two sets of annotations by Linnaeus: in an early hand, on the last folio; in a later hand, on the first folio, with the qualities of 'materia medica' as seen in his works "Materia medica" (1749) and "Clavis medicinae duplex" (1766).
