Description:
Notes for the dissertation 'Ovis', defended on 30 October 1754 by Isaac Nilsson Palmér (1735-1787), with Linnaeus as 'praeses'.
'Ovis' was a dissertation on the domestic sheep ("Ovis aires" L.), its relatives, the breeds known to Linnaeus, their diseases (including the liver fluke) and alleged remedies, and an enumeration of some 140 species of plants which sheep will not eat, plus those that are poisonous when eaten.
One of the sheet corresponds closely to the description of the sheep in the dissertation, and is not in Linnaeus's hand. It is possibly in Palmér's hand.
One of the sheet was probably initially used as a herbarium sheet, for the specimen "Millefolium nobile odore camphorae CB" (unknown handwriting).
The last sheet perhaps a questionnaire for students.
