Major Olof Tilas, knighted in 1719, was the father of Daniel and Olof Tilas. Daniel Tilas (1712-1772) was national herald and rejected Linnaeus's first design for his coat of arms, when the latter was ennobled in 1761. This could refer to Daniel's father or brother.
