Description:
Interleaved fair copy of a draft of "Museum Ludovicae Ulricae" (1764) written by an amanuensis with many corrections and additions by Linnaeus, on the interleaves and on inserted slips.
In the published catalogue, the order was inverted and started with insects, followed by shells.
Original paper cover, in three different handwritings:
- unknown (Smith?): List. No 51 (b)
- Smith: 'Museum Reg. Ludov. Ulricae'
- Linnaeus: 'CONCHILIA'
Title page:
"Museum | Reginae | Srae Rae Majestatis | Ludovicae Ulricae | Svecorum Gothorum Vandalq[ue] | Reginae | in | Cujus Parte Prima | Testacea | et ['500' inserted by Linnaeus] Secunda | Insecta | exotica | exhibentur | redacta | ad | Classes, Genera, Species, Varietates | cum | Descriptionibus, Synonymis, Figuris | opera | Caroli Linnaei | Sae. R. Mtis. Archiatri | de Stella Polair Equ. | Vol. 1"
The order of this fair copy is closer to the two earlier drafts, (starting with "Dentalium"), with the genera almost in reverse order than in the published catalogue.
