post1758
Description:
Small slip of paper with rows of numbers (of specimens sent?) in another hand than Linnaeus's and their equivalence (species number in "Systema naturae" 1758?) in Linnaeus's hand.
Post 1758 as the numbering of genera goes up to 1131, which does not occur before the 10th edition (1758) of "Systema naturae".
Small notes on "Saxifraga", "Herminium" and "Lichen" written on one side:
21. corresponds to "Saxifraga". Mentions Pehr Adlerheim, who 'found the species several years ago'. Reference to Colonna, F (1616). "Minus cognitarum stirpium".
80. corresponds to "Herminium". Linnaeus notes that it has never been seen before in Sweden and needs to be described carefully.
89. corresponds to "Lichen". Linnaeus notes that it is the same near Uppsala. Reference to Dillenius, J J (1741) "Historia muscorum".
Possibly list sent by a student or a correspondent who travelled to the North and brought back or sent back plants for Linnaeus to identify and name.
