Description:
The preparatory manuscript was written out by an amanuensis in March 1775, and paginated. This initial draft was further added to by an amanuensis, and by both Linnaeus pater and filius from May to August 1775, and later. The descriptions written by Linnaeus directly on the loose interleaves were done in the period from September 1775 to November 1776 (with corresponding pagination, with sometimes the addition of a letter to distinguish the initial draft from the interleaf). Some entries were copied directly as they were into the "Supplementum plantarum", while others were modified by Linnaeus fil.
Prefatory matter includes 3 drafts of the preface by in Swedish (Linnaeus fil.), 2 drafts of the preface in Latin (Linnaeus fil.), 4 drafts of the list of new genera (Linnaeus pater and fil.).
The first four pages of the amanuensis draft are missing, and were missing when Linnaeus fil. received it. Linnaeus fil. wrote out anew the generic descriptions for the missing genera.
Diagnoses of plants numbered 1-128 but with many more on inserted leaves, including several lists of new genera by Linnaeus pater and his draft for a preface.
Other (possible) hands include those of Jonas Dryander (1748-1810), Isaac Grüno.
